Haori and Michiyuki (Kimono Jackets)
Haori and michiyuki are jackets worn over kimono in Japan. Western women can wear them over trousers, skirts or dresses as a stylish but comfortable jacket. Because they are made to fit over the top of a kimono, michiyuki be worn by anyone from a UK size 8 to size 14, while haori fit size 8-16!
Haori are worn open at the front (some have front ties), while michiyuki have poppers at the front.
All of the haori and michiyuki on this site are authentic and are hand-picked from Japan. Many are vintage and therefore may have slight stains, but all are in very good to excellent condition. For this reason they are not returnable but I am sure you will be very happy with your purchase!

Textured Silk Michiyuki
Lovely 1970s burgundy michiyuki with an abstract striped pattern. The silk has an unusual, ruffled texture. The lining has a beautiful pattern but a slight stain which can not be seen when worn. Otherwise, excellent condition. Poppers and a 'secret' pocket at the front.
Chic Embroidered Haori
Chic, pure silk 1970s haori in a subtle green shade. Lovely embroidered chrysanthemum and pampas grass design on the back and front. Some small stains but overall, very good condition. Includes front ties.
Shibori Michiyuki, Hexagon Design
Funky michiyuki in vibrant orange with gorgeous hand-shibori detailing. Pure silk, this is a vintage piece from the 1970s. the silk is textured and has a hexagon design, the lining has a slight stain (can't be seen when worn), otherwise excellent condition.
Autumnal Michiyuki
1970s michiyuki in pure silk with a subtle design of squares in autumnal shades. Excellent condition.
1950s Haori with Silver and Gold Lacquer Details
Elegant 1950s haori jacket in black, with one crest (mon) on the back. Beautiful pattern of gold and silver lacquer-coated threads woven into the design. Also has a pretty designed lining. Several small stains but otherwise in very good condition and wonderfully soft silk.
Simple Black Haori with One Crest
Elegant black haori with one family crest (mon) on the back. Although the silk is plain, it has a subtle weave of flowing water throughout. Cream lining has several small stains but the outer is in excellent condition, and has retained its ties at the front. This jacket is from the 1970s.
Haori with Stylised Leaf Design
Unique 1970s haori with an all-over geometric design of leaves. Pure silk, slight stain inside but excellent condition when worn.
